At Emerald Valley, we believe a life of ageless exploration is the key to seniors keeping active and happy. For our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents, pursuing new experiences together not only promotes lifelong learning but helps refine the value and purpose of our residents.

Summer Adventures at Emerald Valley 

This summer at Emerald Valley has been nothing short of extraordinary. Our residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care have been exploring new experiences that bring joy, connection, and a sense of adventure to their lives. Here’s a glimpse into some of the unforgettable moments we’ve shared: 

One of the highlights of the summer was our weekly Happy Hours featuring various local musicians. Favorites include the delightful harmonies of the Fun Dudes, Eric the saxophonist, and Yakov the violinist. Residents came together to unwind with great music and even better company. We also brought a touch of nostalgia to our Hot August Nights with an Elvis Presley impersonator. Cracker Jacks and root beer floats made for an evening filled with laughter and fun. 

For those with a taste for adventure, a ferry ride from Alameda to the San Francisco Ferry Building was an unforgettable experience. The scenic views paired with a delightful lunch made it a day to remember. Our residents also had a blast at Graton Casino, where the thrill of the games and the company of friends created a day full of excitement and laughter. 

Creativity has flourished at Emerald Valley as well. An art workshop hosted by CARES, a student-led nonprofit organization, sparked inspiration among our residents. The workshop offered a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and express themselves through art. 

Of course, summer wouldn’t be complete without a few celebrations. Our Fourth of July event was a big hit, complete with mini golf, live music, and fantastic costumes. Our residents also had a wonderful time dancing at the Dublin Senior Center mixer and enjoying the amazing spread prepared by our culinary team at our Anniversary Party. The celebration featured delicious food, live music, and signature mocktails, making it a truly special day for all. 

In every activity, from yoga classes to outings at the Legion of Honor, our residents have embraced the spirit of ageless exploration. Whether it’s celebrating birthdays with live music and cupcakes or enjoying a lively game of “Guess That Tune” during happy hour, our community continues to find joy in every moment. 

Exploring New Horizons in Memory Care 

At Emerald Valley, we believe that staying active and engaged is essential for everyone, especially our Memory Care residents. This summer, our Memory Care residents have embraced the spirit of adventure through a variety of enriching experiences that stimulate their minds and nourish their spirits. 

From our weekly scenic drives that allow residents to enjoy the beauty of nature to the joy of flying kites at the local park, we ensure every outing is filled with laughter and connection. Activities like our cooking class, where residents whip up delicious snacks like chips and salsa while sipping on virgin margaritas, offer not just culinary fun but also a sense of accomplishment. 

Our team carefully curates activities that are not only enjoyable but also therapeutic. For instance, therapy sessions with Theo the cat have brought comfort and companionship to our residents, highlighting the power of animal-assisted therapy.  

By engaging in these thoughtfully designed activities, our Memory Care residents continue to explore new horizons, enjoy meaningful interactions, and maintain a sense of purpose.
