MBK Senior Living welcomes Yovan Luyt as Regional Sales Director for its Arizona and Washington communities. Yovan’s primary responsibilities will be overseeing the operations and ensuring that MBK’s high standards, operational excellence, and culture of care are met.
With over 20 years of senior living experience, Yovan is well-versed in community management and has a unique ability to identify what’s working and opportunities for improvement quickly.
“Yovan has tremendous experience in senior living operations and sales,” said Michael Bardelmeier, Senior Vice President of Operations for MBK Senior Living. “His ability to coach and problem solve, as well as his background in asset management, will further strengthen the teams and communities in his region.”

Although he pursued a degree in Psychology and an MS in Sports psychology, his love for senior living was nurtured from a young age.
“My mother worked in senior living and had me help in almost every department,” said Yovan. “Return to it was like wearing an old shirt – just fits right.”
According to Yovan, one of the aspects of MBK that drew him in was the number of tenured team members and engaging company culture.
“Often with companies, there is a disconnect with the culture at corporate and what’s happening in the communities,” said Yovan. “That’s not the case at MBK. The company culture extends throughout the communities – it’s great.”
Originally from South Africa, Yovan moved to Washington State at age nine. Today, he calls Arizona home along with his wife and three sons. Yovan enjoys painting with acrylics, whittling Beachwood, and gardening in his spare time.
“My family is very competitive,” said Yovan. “My son coined a phrase ‘you’ve got to want it’ that what I’m now using with the community teams when discussing our achieving goals. It’s catching on.”
