The Countdown to 2020 Has Begun!

|

The countdown to 2020 has begun, so we find ourselves reflecting on the past year – the achievements realized, and the people who made it possible. As we celebrate the successes of 2019, topping our list is a genuine appreciation for our wonderful residents, families and team members throughout MBK Senior Living’s 32 communities. We wish you peace, cheer and prosperity in the New Year! Some of the additional highlights we’re celebrating include:

Certified a Great Place to Work (Again): For the second year in a row, MBK Senior Living was certified as a “Great Place to Work” by the Great Place to Work Institute. The certification process considered input received from Team Members and evaluated more than 60 elements of Team Members’ job experiences.

Nine-Time “Best in State” Winner: The Wellington, located in Salt Lake City, receives 9th Best of State award! Received in the Independent Senior Living and Assisted Living categories, Best of State awards recognize outstanding individuals, organizations, and businesses in Utah for their achievement and excellence in their field of endeavor.

Celebrated Grand Re-Openings: Committed to providing the very best senior living environments, MBK renovated and celebrated grand re-openings at MuirWoods Memory Care, Hacienda Del Rey and The Montera.

Simply The Best: Five MBK communities were nominated and voted “the best” in senior living by readers of local publications in areas. Almond Heights was named “Best of Orangevale”, The Commons at Union Ranch was named “Best in Manteca”, MuirWoods Memory Care was named “Best of Petaluma”, The Bellettini was named “Best in Bellevue”, and The Montera was named “Best in La Mesa.” Well done!

Business of the Month: MBK’s Charleston at Cedar Hills was honored by American Fork Chamber of Commerce as a Business of the Month. Estancia Del Sol was also recognized by the Corona Chamber of Commerce.

First and Only: Our Seven Lakes Memory Care community became the first and only senior living community in Colorado to be 100% certified as a “Dementia-Friendly Leader.” Every team member on staff has been trained and certified by Dementia-Friendly Communities of Northern Colorado as a Leader in Dementia Care – a distinction that exemplifies our commitment to extraordinary memory care.

Safe & Secure: In the face of raging California wild fires, MBK’s Oakmont Gardens and Reserve at Thousand Oaks evacuated all residents and team members. Over the course of a week, around-the-clock coordination took place among residents, families, team members and sister communities not in the path of the fire. We cannot express our gratitude enough to our residents and families for their patience and cooperation…for team members who worked tirelessly and beyond their job scope during this emergency…and for sister communities and other local assisted living communities that opened their doors to house residents until fires were contained. Additionally, we’re grateful our communities were untouched by flames and residents were able to quickly return, and enjoy the lifestyle they love.

Yoi Shigoto (Good Work)!: More than $82,000 was donated to nearly 50 different non-profit programs that support various disease research and awareness, veterans, families in need, women’s shelters, educational programs, civil servants, humane societies and more. This spirit of philanthropic service is part of the MBK culture, and widely embraced by residents and team members in an effort to make a difference in our society and world.

We’re looking forward to more GOOD WORK in 2020! Happy New Year.

Every time that I visited my dad, I enjoyed myself from the moment I walked in the door. The place is just alive! It was always a pleasure to go in and be greeted by name and say hello to everyone, staff and residents.
