MBK Senior Living Announces the 2023 Pursuit of Excellence Winners

"Excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better." – Pat Riley

A passion for excellence and constant improvement are cornerstones of MBK Senior Living. Together, these core values fortify Our Purpose and Pursuit, to exceed service and care expectations so that we are the senior living provider of choice in each market we serve.

To some, it may seem a lofty and unobtainable goal. And yet, throughout the 30 years of service to seniors, MBK team members have exemplified those values – even under the most extreme circumstances. In honor of this show of excellence and commitment to the company's core values, MBK Senior Living established the Pursuit of Excellence awards in 2019.

"Our Pursuit of Excellence award recipients show an unwavering commitment to going above and beyond to enrich lives," said Jeff Fischer, President of MBK Senior Living. "It's heartwarming to read the nominations and learn how our team members have impacted residents, families, and fellow employees with their good work."

Narrowing the list of peer- and family-nominated team members and selecting the winners was no easy feat for the Executive Committee. This year, more than 300 MBK team members were nominated. The 2023 Pursuit of Excellence Award recipients are:

- Alice Gathagu, Caregiver, Savanna House, Gilbert, AZ

- Brandon Boschenreither, Caregiver, The Inn at Greenwood Village, Greenwood, CO

- Deirdre Dooley, Operations Assistant, MBK Home Office, Irvine, CA

- Elijah Moon, Caregiver, The Wellington, Salt Lake City, UT

- Michelle Lewis, Director of Wellness Programming, The Montera, La Mesa, CA

- Paige Fulgieri, Director of Wellness Programming, Dale Commons, Modesto, CA

"Always helpful, selfless nature, hardworking, knowledgeable, always friendly, absolutely incredible, an invaluable asset to the community, greatly improve how we do things – these are just a few of the statements made about our winners," said Fischer. "I couldn't be prouder of them for the good work they do on behalf of MBK Senior Living."

Recipients will be honored at ceremonies held in San Diego, California, during the company's "Accelerate" Leadership Retreat on May 2.

"We look forward to celebrating these incredible individuals but would be remiss in not congratulating the hundreds of other team members who were nominated," said Fischer. "We are grateful for all they do to elevate MBK Senior Living's culture of care."

Every time that I visited my dad, I enjoyed myself from the moment I walked in the door. The place is just alive! It was always a pleasure to go in and be greeted by name and say hello to everyone, staff and residents.
