MBK Senior Living Residents Resident and Families:

At MBK Senior Living, we set high standards sewn into the fabric of our daily purpose – to exceed the quality, service, and care expectations of those we serve. These standards aren’t arbitrary. They’re based on over 30 years of experience in senior living and listening – truly listening – to our residents and their families.

In November, we invited our residents and their families to participate in our annual Activated Insights Resident Satisfaction survey. It was designed to cover topics regarding service, care and provided those we serve an opportunity to share where we’re doing well - or could do better. Across MBK Senior Living communities, 66% of residents and their families participated in the survey. We are incredibly grateful to them for contributing their time, honest information, and thoughtful suggestions.

Some of the highlights from the survey include:

  • 91% of residents/families said they feel safe in our communities.
  • 89% of residents/families feel the caregiving staff listen and treat them/their loved one with respect.
  • 86% of resident/families said the appearance of the community is updated and aesthetically pleasing.
  • 85% of residents/families said the response to the pandemic has made me feel secure and well-informed.

That’s not to say all the feedback was positive. The survey results also clearly communicated where we need to focus our attention. The input will help pave the way for improvements and allow us to stay in alignment with the driving force to the MBK Senior Living culture – Yoi Shigoto (“the good work). Yoi Shigoto is more than a mantra or service program. It’s part of MBK’s overall commitment to building trust, setting high standards, developing the full potential in ourselves and others, contributing to society, and doing the right thing – always.

Residents and families can expect specific community-level action plans based on survey results in early January. We look forward to sharing where we ranked in the US News and World Report among senior living providers when the issue is published in April. But, most of all, we look forward to doing more good work and pushing our teams to continuously improve, elevate services, care deeply, and enhance lives.

Sincerely,

Every time that I visited my dad, I enjoyed myself from the moment I walked in the door. The place is just alive! It was always a pleasure to go in and be greeted by name and say hello to everyone, staff and residents.
