Caring is EssentiAL: Celebrating National Assisted Living Week

|

September 1319 is National Assisted Living Week, an opportunity to recognize the role of Assisted Living professionals has in caring for our nation's seniors!

At MBK Senior Living's Assisted Living communities, it's so much more than mitigating the risks of a global pandemic. Every day our Assisted Living team members passionately care for our residents' mental, physical, and emotional well-being. That's why we couldn't agree more with this year's theme – "Caring is EssentiAL."

According to Webster's dictionary, "essential" is defined as something absolutely necessary. At MBK Senior Living communities, it's essential that our residents feel cherished and cared for – just like family. We strive daily to nurture a culture of genuine care, one that puts residents' and families' needs at the forefront.

That's why comments like these from residents' families mean so much to our compassionate, dedicated, and caring team members.

"My parents moved into McDowell Village during the height of the COVID-19 epidemic. They have had the most positive experience! They LOVE their apartment!" wrote Linda Anderson. "From day one, each staff member has made them feel safe and at home!"

"My mother stayed at Cottonwood Creek Assisted Living for two months during the time of COVID-19. She had just spent two months in rehab, and this was the next recommended step before returning home. Despite the limited activities, the management and staff made her feel at home," wrote Alan Evensen, a former resident's son.

"The assisted living aspect provided for cooking and cleaning, giving my mother a needed break as she continued her recovery and focused on returning home. Two weeks before she left the facility, her doctor pronounced her completely recovered, and in the best condition he'd seen her in years," continued Evensen.

"My mother-in-law moved here [Citrus Place] 3 years ago. We all love the community and the staff," wrote Rhonda Raulston, a resident's daughter-in-law. "We are so impressed with the management and staff for their caring and thorough approach to keeping the residents and staff safe during COVID, and for sharing frequent updates and news, and for making every effort to keep the residents connected with their families and friends."

Throughout this week, we'll be celebrating our essential team members. Follow us on social media to join in the celebration and to learn more. To find an MBK community near you, visit MBKseniorliving.com.

It's What We're Here For

"

Every time that I visited my dad, I enjoyed myself from the moment I walked in the door. The place is just alive! It was always a pleasure to go in and be greeted by name and say hello to everyone, staff and residents.
