The start of a New Year is a time of retrospection and anticipation. A time when we celebrate the accomplishments of the closing year, and look forward to fresh starts provided by the coming year. For MBK Senior Living, 2017 was full of activity, philanthropic endeavors, changes, and fond memories.
Welcomed a new president. In 2017, Jeff Fischer took the helm at MBK Senior Living; bringing with him more than two decades of industry experience and a solid reputation for achieving results. His strategic operations, team building and leadership expertise has been instrumental to the company’s success in 2017.
Partnered with Together We Rise to support foster children. As part of MBK’s commitment to “Yoi Shigoto” (a Japanese phrase that means “the good work”), the company partnered with Together We Rise, a non-profit organization focused on supporting foster children. More than $30,000 was raised to purchase supplies for Together We Rise’s “Sweet Cases” - duffle bags filled with supplies for children coming into foster care, who usually have to transport their belongings in a plastic trash bag.
Survived the Northern California fires.
In the early morning hours on Oct. 9, Oakmont Gardens’ residents were quickly evacuated from their home due to the Northern California firestorm. For two weeks, residents were outplaced, worrying daily if shifting winds and flames would close in on our community. Gratefully, on October 19th the evacuation order was lifted and our community only sustained smoke damage. Over the course of the next two days, Oakmont Garden’s team worked in tandem with professional sanitation vendors around-the-clock to diligently to make the community habitable. On Sunday, October 22st, we happily welcomed residents home with balloons, champagne, and live music.

Said hello to Hacienda Del Rey
MBK Senior Living closed escrow in December on Hacienda Del Rey, a 90-unit assisted living and memory care community located in Litchfield Park, Arizona. Hacienda Del Rey will be MBK’s third community located in Arizona.
Moving forward into 2018.
Oprah Winfrey once said, “Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.” As we march into the new year, MBK Senior Living looks forward to all the opportunities to “get it right.”
- As part of our strategic growth plan, we’re looking forward to welcoming additional communities to the MBK family (stay tuned for an announcement within this month).
- We’re thrilled to further our signature programs such as MBKuisine dining program and MBKonnection wellness approach that enriches the whole person - mind, body and spirit.
- Quarterly, we’ll be inviting prospects and their families to join us in experiencing MBK programs, services and learning how we pursue to be the senior living provider of choice in each market we serve.
- And, most importantly in 2018 we look forward to the many opportunities to demonstrate our true purpose – to exceed the quality, service and care expectations of those we serve.
Happy New Year!
