IRVINE, Calif. (August 3, 2018) – Based on input from more than 1,000 team member surveys, MBK Senior Living (MSL) has earned a Great Place to Work certificate from the Great Place to Work Institute. The certification process considered input received from team members across 25 locations, and evaluated more than 60 elements of team members’ experiences on the job.
The evaluation process was conducted by Great Place to Work, an independent research and consulting firm. Rankings were based on team members’ experiences, no matter who they are or what they do. MSL team members were questioned on a number of work place factors including: the company’s community impact; belief that their work makes a difference; and feeling their work has special meaning. Results of the full survey can be seen here: http://reviews.greatplacetowork.com/mbk-senior-living.
With more than two decades of experience in the senior living and health and human services industry, MSL has earned a solid reputation for an enduring company culture and commitment based on MSL’s pursuit, purpose, principles and core values.
“Our Commitment embodies the high-standards and expectations for the company, team members and communities,” said Fischer. “In action daily, Our Commitment delivers amazing results – happier, healthier residents, invigorated and enhanced lifestyles, increased self-esteem, well-trained and professional team members, caring and compassionate team members, genuine relationships, trust, respect, loyalty and so much more,” said Fischer.
Hand-in-hand with Our Commitment, MSL embraces a philosophy called “Yoi Shigoto.” Simply translated from Japanese it means “the good work,” but what it represents for the company is a resolve to do good work that benefits our residents, their families, our team members as well as surrounding local communities and even the world. At MSL, Yoi Shigoto is an on-going vow to do right by the customers and team members through an honest, persistent pursuit of “doing good.” It also is MSL’s desire to positively impact the world through selfless endeavors and striving to make a difference.
To date, MSL has implemented hundreds of Yoi Shigoto initiatives, contributed thousands of dollars and service hours to hundreds local schools, hospitals, police and fire departments and charitable organizations that support veterans, at risk youth, homeless, foster children, and individuals and families living with cancer, Alzheimer’s and multiple sclerosis (MS).
“More than words or mission statements, Our Commitment and our Yoi Shigoto philosophy is felt and seen in our communities and home office,” said Fischer. “We couldn’t be more pleased that our efforts of ‘doing good’ are further validated by earning a Great Place to Work certificate.”
“We applaud MBK Senior Living for seeking certification and releasing its team members’ feedback,” said Dr. Jacquelyn Kung, of Great Place to Work’s senior care affiliate, Activated Insights. “These ratings measure its capacity to earn its own team members’ trust and create a great workplace for high performance.”
